In the October updates for QuickBooks Online (QBO), Intuit is planning a big change to the Business view. Below describes how the new setup will look, where all of your previous menu items are grouped, along with a new feature, which can be accessed anywhere within your QuickBooks Online file, Bookmarks.
The first major change that QBO users will notice is the layout of the left-hand navigation pane. Rather than the Accountant view, you will now see a more simplified way to navigate around QuickBooks Online. You will now see nine new headings: Get Things Done, Business Overview, Get Paid and Pay, Customers and Leads, Payroll, Bookkeeping, GST, Apps, and a new heading called Bookmarks.
Here is what you can expect to see within each new heading that Intuit has made available in this update.
All of the tabs besides the bookmarks tab can also be reorganized to your preference, so if you use the payroll function more often, you can move it to the top, so it is easily findable. If you deselect any items you would not like to see, the items do not get removed completely but will get moved to the More tab on the left-hand navigation pane to still provide access to them.
Intuit states that they believe the new Business view will help streamline the QuickBooks Online experience, making it easier and more friendly to use for business owners. If you do not like the new Business view, you can always switch back to the previous Accountant view. To do this you will need to click the Menu settings button on the left-hand navigation pane and click Switch to Accountant view. The view can be changed between the Accountant view and Business view at any time.
The rollout for the new look to Business view started in October 2022, and Intuit expects to have a full rollout of the new Business view by mid December 2022. For more information, please consult with your Porte Brown accountant or send us a message via our Contact Us form.
