Gary has practiced public accounting for more than 30 years. His ability to truly listen to his client’s needs and find unique solutions to their concerns has allowed him to develop a wide-ranging and dedicated following of clients.

Professional Experience

Gary has truly seen it all in accounting including even a year as an internal auditor for a multi-national corporation. His current emphasis is business and personal taxation, but his background includes many years of experience in a traditional audit/accounting role. He also has conducted numerous fraud and forensic investigations. This experience has lead him to be hired as an expert witness on a variety of civil matters. He has also conducted fraud investigations that ultimately lead to criminal indictments.

Prior to merging with Porte Brown, Gary was a partner with Borhart Spellmeyer and in charge of their tax department. His prior experience also includes 27 years with a top 20 Chicagoland public accounting firm where he served in a variety of capacities including a position on their Executive Committee.
