Our Partners: Scott Kaplan
Scott is an Accounting & Assurance Partner at Porte Brown’s Evanston office. He specializes in family owned businesses, in which he evaluates their financial health, provides practical advice to streamline operations, and develops a transition plan for the next generation. He manages a diversified practice of individuals, not-for-profit entities and family businesses in many industries. Scott is regularly involved with assisting his clients identify opportunities to reduce their tax footprint as well as providing business consulting and strategic planning advice.
Professional Experience
Scott received his initial auditing training at Altchuler, Melvoin and Glasser and Lester Witte & Company. In 1984 Scott joined what would eventually become Brown, Kaplan + Liss LLP. He was admitted as a partner of the firm in January 1991. After BK+L’s merger in December of 2014, Scott transitioned to partner at Porte Brown LLC.
